What I've Been Doing When I'm Not Writing...

Now that my book is out of my hands, I can focus on the wedding. Today my main squeeze, mom and I went cupcake tasting. Uhm...yum!

We tasted a ton of flavors (vanilla, red velvet, chocolate, carrot, key lime, lemon, orange and spice) along with some amazing frostings. I pretty much destroyed my wedding diet for today, but it was totally worth it. I think we found our perfect combinations and we even got sent home with a container of extra cupcakes. This was one of the parts of wedding planning so far!

I also got my haircut and had my stylist try out a look for the wedding. Today we went curly. What do you think?

I like it, but my wedding is at the end of July. I'm thinking that may be too hot for curls. It's hard to find something for short hair. I still need a veil, so we're going to try some new styles after that.

Speaking of veils...I found my wedding dress and LOVE it. I can't share that with you, but how about a peek at one of my rejects. We had to laugh at how much fabric this dress had. I felt like a southern belle!

What about you? What have you been doing when you're not writing?

Face Lift

One of the first things I did on my writing break was give my blog a little nip and tuck. Check out the new look! My blog is quite proud of the work it had done!

A Writing Break

Oh...hey! How have you been? It's been awhile!

Revisions are done, the manuscript is okayed and it's going back out into the big big world of publishing houses. We shall see what comes of it!

So after months of working on revisions, I'm going on a writing break. Not a long one, I'm thinking three weeks would be a good amount of time to "detox" and get hundreds the words swimming around my head out.

What does one do on a writing break? about:

*Plan a wedding (this past Sunday marked six months until the big day!)

*Cross Country Ski (it's my favorite winter activity)

*Read some great books (I just started the semester for my MFA and I love the books in my American nonfiction class)

*Get a massage (we're talking a 90 minute main squeeze got it for me for Christmas!)

*Celebrate my birthday (next Wednesday!)

*Watch bad reality TV (I need to catch up on my episodes of The Real Housewives, Teen Mom 2 and Millionaire Matchmaker)

*Knit (I haven't done my dorky hobby that much lately. I need to find a fun pattern to make)

*Spend time with my family (since I moved 45 minutes away, I don't feel like I see them enough)

What about you? What would you do on a writing break?

I Can See The Light!

I'm peeking my head out to say "hi!" I miss all of you and I'm so glad I still have all my followers (I actually got one new one!), even though I have been MIA these past few weeks.

The end is near...thank god!

I had a long phone conference with my agent last night and she likes the new changes (phew!). I just have three sections to revise, some typos to correct and the book will be back on submission (we're aiming on sending it out in two weeks).

I can't wait to get back to regular blogging and connecting with all of you again. Thanks so much for sticking around, and I will be back back back soon!
